About Rainford Rangers U9 Inter

Our main goal at U9 Inter is to have fun. Football should be full of smiles, laughter, and joy, no matter the score!

We treat everyone with respect, from the 11 teammates in the squad and the coaches, to opponents and referees. Every player is encouraged to try their best knowing that mistakes are just part of learning and growing. We cheer each other on, speak kindly, and build each other up, because every player matters.

Most of all, we wear our kit with pride, play with heart, and enjoy every moment we share as a squad.

Lee Pointon

Lee has been involved in grassroots football from an early age right through to open age, gaining valuable experience from a range of coaches. He now uses that knowledge to support and guide the development of this U9s squad.

Lee is fully DBS checked, welfare & safeguarding qualified, first aid trained, and accredited to FA coaching standards, enabling him to focus on developing both the team and each individual player based on their needs, while keeping the game fun and accessible.

Lee’s ethos is all about making sure the players have fun while developing their skills, confidence, and love for the game.

Phil Whitehead

Phil has been passionate about football since his early days playing grassroots, and that love for the game still drives him today. He’s committed to helping our young players grow in confidence, develop their skills, and, above all, have fun as part of a team.

Fully DBS checked, welfare & safeguarding qualified, first aid trained, and accredited to FA coaching standards, Phil focuses on encouragement, sportsmanship, and making sure every player enjoys their football journey from start to finish.
