U6 Development Academy

4-6 Years Development Academy

The  Development Academy is designed to nurture young players by providing high-quality coaching, structured training sessions, and a pathway into competitive football. Focusing on developing technical skills, game understanding, and confidence both on and off the pitch, the academy caters to all abilities, ensuring every player has the opportunity to progress at their own pace. With the emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoyment, our development academy not only prepares players for the next level of football but also instils values that last a lifetime.

Boys and girls in Reception and Year 1 have the opportunity to learn the basics of football and broaden their core development skills through fun games in a social environment with other children, aimed at keeping the players active and entertained preparing them for life outside of the academy.

Emily Chapman

For a number of years, Emily has led the Rainford Rangers U6 Development Academy seeing numerous children enter the Rainford Rangers family and begin their football journey.

We are priviliged that Emily continues to provide early years children with the opportunity to develop their football skills and self-confidence through these free to attend sessions every week during the football season.

Emily was recently nominated for a number of regional and national FA volunteer awards for all of her hard work and dedication to grassroots football. Without Emily and the development academy, Rainford Rangers would not be as strong as it is and the club continue to invest in our academy program to continue the tradition of making football available to all.

Are You The Next Arne or Sarina?

Our development academy not only develops young children, but we also offer parents and/or legal guardians of our children an opportunity to get into coaching for the first time or to restart their coaching career. We encourage all to get involved and join the Rainford Rangers community.

As a club, we proudly act as a mentor and provide resources for potential coaches passing on all our experiences for a swift learning process. Any potential manager and/or coach is required to complete the FA Level 1 course (online), be DBS checked, and complete first aid & safeguarding qualifications (online) prior to taking charge of any session. All of this is funded and provided by the club.

This is a hugely rewarding experience and one your child and their teammates will value for the rest of their lives.
